PLATFORM GUIDE

How The 2nd Chance works.

A complete guide to getting the most from your advisory journey with Grant.

PHASE 0
Your first conversation with Grant

Before you commit to a plan, Grant gives you a real taste of what he does. This is not a product demo — it is an actual advisory conversation. Grant will ask you about your background, probe your thinking, and show you exactly how he works. There is no script. No time limit. When Grant has enough to give you a real answer, he will tell you — and that is when you choose your plan.

How to get the most out of it:
·Be honest about your background — Grant calibrates everything to who you actually are, not who you want to be.
·Don't hold back on your idea. The more you share, the more specific Grant’s insights become.
·There is no wrong answer. Grant adapts to wherever you are.
GRANT'S TIP

“The founders who get the most from this conversation are the ones who stop trying to impress me and start being honest with me. I already know what a good idea looks like. What I need to understand is you.”

PHASE 1
10 questions that shape everything

Before Grant begins your advisory journey, he conducts a structured interview — 10 focused questions about who you are, what you have, and where you want to go. This is not a form. It is a conversation. Every answer you give becomes part of Grant's context for every module that follows. The more specific you are here, the more personalized your entire experience will be.

What Grant asks:
·Your professional background and relevant experience
·Your core skills and what you are genuinely good at
·Your available budget for this venture
·How much time you can realistically commit
·Your risk tolerance
·Your goals — lifestyle, scale, exit, or something else
·What motivates you to build this
·Whether you have tried building something before
·Your idea direction — own idea or looking for one
GRANT'S TIP

“I ask about previous ventures not to judge failure — I ask because someone who has tried and failed once already knows things that first-timers do not. That context changes my advice significantly.”

PHASE 2
Six modules. One coherent strategy.

Once onboarding is complete, Grant guides you through six advisory modules — each building on the last. You move through them sequentially, and Grant signals when each module is complete and proposes moving forward. You confirm when you are ready.

The modules:
·Interview with Grant — Grant reviews your profile and opens the strategic conversation
·Idea Phase — deep validation of your own idea, or generation of up to 10 qualified ideas for your profile. Grant closes it with a preliminary verdict: go, pivot or stop
·Market Analysis — TAM/SAM/SOM, competitor mapping, customer profile, go-to-market angle. On paid plans Grant researches the live web and cites his sources
·Legal & Compliance — federal and state regulations specific to your business type and location, checked against official sources where available
·Risk & Blockers — the top reasons this specific idea could fail, and how to prevent each one
·Roadmap — a phased action plan calibrated to your budget and time commitment, ending with Grant's final verdict
GRANT'S TIP

“I do not move you forward until the module is genuinely complete. If your market analysis is thin, I will tell you. If your risk assessment is missing something critical, we stay until it is addressed. The sequence matters.”

PHASE 3
Your strategy becomes real documents.

Step 7 is where everything you have built with Grant becomes tangible. Based on everything discussed across all six modules, Grant generates your complete document suite — each one personalized to your idea, your market, your resources, and your goals. These are not templates. They are built from your sessions.

Builder plan — all 6 documents:
·Business Plan — 10+ sections, financial projections, investor-ready
·Pitch Deck — 10–12 slides, presentation-ready
·Market Analysis — TAM/SAM/SOM, competitor table, market chart
·Legal Checklist — state-specific, priority-coded items
·Action Roadmap — phased milestones calibrated to your budget
·Executive Summary — concise stakeholder-ready overview
Starter plan — 3 documents:
·Business Plan, Market Analysis, Legal Checklist.

Document generation can take up to 2 minutes per document. Grant is building something real — not pulling from a template.

GRANT'S TIP

“Every number in your financial projections comes from something you told me. Where I researched a figure I name the source, and where I could not verify it I mark it "to verify" — please check those before you rely on them. Every milestone in your roadmap is calibrated to what you actually have available. This is your plan, not a generic one.”

PHASE 4
Planning ends. Execution begins.

Step 8 is where the advisory relationship shifts. You are no longer building a plan — you are executing one. Grant tracks your progress, adapts recommendations as reality sets in, and identifies when assumptions need to change. Return to your session as often as you need — Grant remembers everything.

What happens in Ongoing Advisory:
·Grant turns your first roadmap milestones into dated commitments and asks about them in a weekly check-in email (Starter and Builder)
·Grant prepares a validation kit — interview script, landing page and ad copy — so you can test the idea with real customers and log the results
·Grant reviews your progress against the roadmap milestones
·New blockers and risks are identified as they emerge
·Strategy is updated based on what you have learned executing
·Grant monitors for incubation eligibility signals
GRANT'S TIP

“Most advisors disappear after the plan is written. I do not. The plan is just the beginning — what matters is what you do with it, and whether we adapt it fast enough when reality surprises you.”

BUILDER EXCLUSIVE
Your personalized marketing plan

Once you reach Step 8, Grant builds a complete growth strategy tailored to your specific business — not a generic marketing checklist. Every channel recommendation is justified by your target customer profile. Every tactic is calibrated to your available budget and time. Every timeline reflects what you can realistically execute.

What Grant generates:
·Channel Strategy — which platforms to focus on and why, based on where your customers actually are
·Content Playbook — what to post, how often, with examples specific to your industry
·90-Day Launch Plan — week-by-week actions for your first 90 days of marketing
·Budget Allocation — how to distribute your marketing budget across channels
·KPIs & Success Metrics — what to measure and how to know if it's working
How to access:
·From your Session Room, click Growth Strategy in the right sidebar. Available after completing Step 8 on the Builder plan.
GRANT'S TIP

“Most founders skip marketing strategy until they need customers. By then, they’ve already built the wrong product for the wrong audience. I build your growth strategy after we’ve validated your market — so every tactic is grounded in what we already know about your customer.”

PHASE 5+
Your risks, tracked in real time

After completing the Risk & Blockers module with Grant, your Risk Tracker becomes a living dashboard. Every risk Grant identified for your specific idea and profile is listed — categorized, prioritized, and ready to track as you execute.

How it works:
·Grant identifies your top risks during the Risk & Blockers module (Step 5)
·Each risk is categorized: Financial, Market, Operational, Personal, Legal
·You update the status as you execute: Open → In Progress → Mitigated → Accepted
·Return to your session to discuss any risk that changes
How to access:
·From your Session Room left sidebar, click Risk Tracker. Available after completing Step 5.

A risk you are aware of is manageable. A risk you forgot about is a threat.

GRANT'S TIP

“I flag risks that are specific to you — not generic startup warnings. The market risk for a bootstrapped solo founder in retail is different from the same risk for a funded team. Your tracker reflects your reality, not a template.”

PHASE 7+
Your plan as a living timeline

After generating your Action Roadmap document, the Strategic Roadmap page transforms it into an interactive timeline. Each phase and milestone is displayed visually — with the ability to track your progress as you execute.

How it works:
·Your Action Roadmap document becomes an interactive visual timeline
·Each milestone shows: title, description, success metric, and priority
·Mark milestones as completed as you execute — progress is tracked automatically
·Your overall completion percentage is shown at the top
Tips for using it effectively:
·Review it weekly — not just when something goes wrong
·Mark milestones complete even for small wins — momentum matters
·Return to your Grant session when a milestone is blocked
How to access:
·From your Session Room left sidebar, click Strategic Roadmap. Available after generating your Action Roadmap document.
GRANT'S TIP

“A roadmap you never look at is not a roadmap — it is a document. The founders who execute well check their milestones regularly, update their status honestly, and come back to me when something is not moving. That is how plans become results.”

BY SELECTION
Some ideas get more than advice.

The incubation program is not an application process. Grant evaluates every project automatically after Step 8 is completed — assessing market size, founder-market fit, scalability, differentiation, and execution readiness. If your project scores above the threshold, you will receive a calm notification in your dashboard. The 2nd Chance team then reviews within 7 business days.

What incubation means:
·Direct capital investment from The 2nd Chance team
·No subscription fee during incubation
·Structured mentorship and quarterly reviews
·A defined exit path with clear milestones
·Deal structure: equity or revenue share, negotiated case by case
GRANT'S TIP

“I identify incubation candidates because I have watched how they think and decide across eight modules. It is not about having a perfect idea. It is about being the right person to execute it.”
